The Supporting of Troops
Is there a law in America that makes it illegal to not support our troops? I have never heard one person in my life say they are against the troops. We all support the troops (collective name for monkeys incidentally ~ I prefer soldiers) with our tax dollars whether we like it or not but why do I hear so many liberals and democrats supporting our troops when they are opposed to the war they are fighting? My guess is that the patriotic brainwashing that occurs during our schooling experience with our Hitleresque salute to the flag accompanied with the pledge of allegiance makes it almost impossible to oppose the men and women who fight for our country - no matter what the mission is. When one views the madrasas - apparently used for recruiting soldiers for Al Qaeda and the Jihad - there is an eery similarity to our children lined up, saluting the flag. I'm sorry liberals, you cannot have your cake and eat it. You cannot oppose a war and support the people who are fighting it. Our soldiers leave their families, occupy nations and as recent history tells us, torture, humilate and beat to death often innocent people. I'm sure there are many that still believe in their ever changing mission and are upstanding citizens who are humanitarians but the fact remains, we have collectively opened the gates of hell in Iraq and our soldiers - who had every chance to put down their weapons after learning of the administration's deceipt - have continued their occupation and at times brutality of the Iraqi people. The 6.000 soldiers who have gone AWOL since the invasion are my heroes. I'll support them. I will not support actively engaged soldiers in Iraq. Bring them home.
